Etchings : On-going 2024 -

Since 2024 I’ve been going to an etching workshop every week to learn various techniques for print making. My reasons for working in a new medium began with a simple need to take a step away from my daily creative work in programming on the computer. I wanted to work with pure materials and explore gesture as a means for mark making.

At the same time my experience in generative practices on the screen became a way to inform what I was searching to create on the etching plate. Indeed, some of the images presented here are directly linked to an earlier series entitled Neural Drawings. A series in which I had aleady used printing techniques to explore the material qualities of the printed image. At the same time, this weekly practice has led to completely new means of expression.
