Neural Drawings : GAN Research

A selection of images taken from my research into generative adversarial networks or GANs. GANs are a type of machine learning algorithm that allows for the creation of new images by training a model on a dataset of images.

The first images were in collaboration with the painter Bruce Riley. Riley has a particular approach to painting that is informed by organic and abstract forms. We worked together in early 2022, Riley providing me with a series of images from which I created a number of still and moving images.

The work on this page was initiated back in early March of 2021 and presents some of the initial images to go on and inform later work. I have dedicated particular attention to making images with AI techniques and mixing these with my generative art practice. My Neural Drawings series took form from these early experiments.

More images will be presented on other pages in the future.
